Alifakovac Cemetery
Alifakovac Cemetery is one of the oldest and most historic Sarajevo cemeteries. It has around 300 tombs, with two 18th c. tombs Jahjaefendic Qadi (judge) built for his son and his friend Jusuf-Pasha.
Location: Old Town
Over the centuries judges, muftis (Islamic sharia scholars), craftsmen, agas and other eminent Sarajevo citizens were buried here. The cemetery is also called Musafir Cemetery (ar. musafir – visitor) because those visitors whose destiny was to die in Sarajevo were buried here. Tombstones and inscriptions are historical archives of its own kind left in stone.

Kolobara-han Kolobara-han was the first inn built in Sarajevo. It is a 15th c. structure built by the endowment of Isa-Bey Ishakovic, the founder of Sarajevo.The inn had 40 rooms and could take up to four hundred people and 35 horses.

Bascarsija In the medieval period, at the site of the present-day Bascarsija, there was a neighborhood called Stara varos. This neighborhood settled around one of the best markets in that area. It was called “Utorkoviste” as most of the trading was done on Tuesdays.
